I've graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and now work at NIST. The overall theme of my work has been the development of parallel and visual Knowledge Discovery algorithms. Knowledge Discovery is the task of deriving comprehensible, high-level knowledge from large collections of data. Because the current trend in computer hardware is towards increasingly parallel processing, I have developed data-parallel algorithms for many-core and multi-core processors including GPUs (Graphics Processing Units).
